7 things that would happen if an engineering student runs our country

A ‘government’ is the political direction and control exercised over the actions of the members, citizens, or inhabitants of communities, societies, and states; direction of the affairs of a state, community, etc.

Sounds a bit too boring? Let’s make it interesting.

Today, it’s our politicians, who are in charge of taking all the major decisions related to our country but what if engineering students are given this power. What will happen if the engineering students are given a chance to form a government and run our country for few months  No ministers, no politicians, nothing, just some undergraduate engineering students, taking each and every important decision related to our people and nation.

Let me take a hypothetical situation where whatever I have said just now is true, and the country is now in the hands of a bunch of engineering students. Here is what might happen if this were the case.

  1. Maximum will be extracted from the low economy – Recession and low bank balance is a very common thing for an engineering student. They always know how to make the most of the limited money they have. Empty pockets looks very much equivalent to the bad economy of our country, if students can manage easily without money then they can manage the country with less money as well.Since our ministers look helpless when it comes to maintaining economy then why not give students a shot, they may come up with some better solutions.
  1. Our government runs on jugaad, and engineering students know it the best – No matter what a student learns learn in his/her 4 years, one thing which he/she definitely learns is this word, ‘jugaad’. Be it lectures, assignments or exams, jugaad is the solution for all. Same is the case with our government, it also depends heavily on jugaad for most of the things. Therefore it is natural thing that people who have more expertise in jugaad, will do better. Starting from gaining a majority, to passing a bill in the parliament, jugaad will fit everywhere.
  2. It won’t take years to take a decision – Students often find themselves in a tight spot where they have take a decision immediately, hence they are in a habit of taking decisions quickly. Right now it takes years to pass a judgement in the court, the same goes with the procedure of passing a bill. Sometimes the whole purpose of introducing a bill itself gets lost before it actually gets passed. I think the country can benefit a lot if these decisions get a little fast forwarded.
  3. Girls will always be safe – Boys of an engineering college know the true value of girls. If they are given a chance to run the nation, they will do their best to ensure women security in our country. As we can see that our government is helpless in protecting women, which is very evident from the increase in number of rapes, college students can do a way better job. They will make sure that strict laws are in place (castration will surely be an option) to deal with rapists and people who are a threat to women in our country.
  4. Pakistan and China will be in for some serious trouble – These two countries continuously trying occupy Indian territories, and diplomatic talks have given no solution at all. The aggressive intent of students is what is needed here. College students, who are always ready to raise their voice against any injustice done to them, will surely have a different way of solving this problem. If students run the nation, they won’t just sit back and watch. Rather they will step forward and reply back.
  5. Meeting the deadlines won’t be an issue – After doing hundreds of submissions and so many projects, finishing before the deadline no longer looks a monstrous task for an engineering student. We see on so many occasions that the government fails to finish a task on time. They always play with time boundaries. Students will increase the efficiency by finishing the work on time, and this will definitely be beneficial for the public.
  6. Engineering students don’t fear examinations, so what if it is taken by the public – A student has to give hundreds of quizzes and exams in his/her 4 years of engineering. After giving so many tests, the fear of tests completely vanishes from a student’s mind. Therefore when it will come to facing the constant challenges given by the people, students will be prepared for it. What solution they will bring in is a different thing but at least they won’t chicken out.

These were the things which possibly might happen if the engineering class of the society gets a chance to lead the nation.

I know that it will be really silly if some amateur engineering students are handed over with the responsibility to run the country. But won’t it be nice if the government can take a leaf or two out of their ideology and see if it can really bring in a change or not.
