This man tortured and starved 26 dogs to near death conditions – An incident that will shock you

I love animals. And I can’t even imagine that how can one even think of hurting them, and that too dogs. A dog gives away all his love to his master, in return of the leftover love that his master gives him. But one man in Delhi certainly didn’t understand this.

A scientist named Gokul Nair in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi used to collect stray dogs in one of his 2 room apartments. According to his neighbors, he would lure dogs with food into his apartment and then he used to lock them up.

Allegedly, he used to feed them only once a week, and would not also take proper care of them. The neighbors complain that the smell of dogs was such that some people living nearby his flat had to shift elsewhere. When his neighbors used to confront him with the topic, he used to threaten them that he would beat them up if they intervene in his personal life.

He has been missing for last 5 days, and police together with the help of animal activists broke into his flat around 2 days ago after complain from his neighbors about regular loud whimpering of the dogs. He didn’t feed him straight for 5 days.

The dogs were so weak that they had to be carried all the way to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Centre. Proper care of these animals are being taken there, and a case has been registered against Nair under sections of cruelty to animals. He is right now on a run.

I don’t understand if that man had some psychological disorder or if he was just cruel. But certainly, it pains me to know that how could a man’s heart not melt after seeing 26 dogs crying in front of him. He didn’t give them any water or food; and tortured them till they were so weak that they could barely move.

What was the whole point of keeping the dogs if you can’t care for them? They were much better as stray dogs; at least they could care for themselves that way.

What do you think should happen with such people who torture their pets this way?
