They Teased A 16 Year Girl And Her Reply Sent Them To Hospital. This is What Fighting Back Means!

They Teased A 16 Year Girl And Her Reply Sent Them To Hospital. This is What Fighting Back Means!

September 9, 2015 by

“I told myself that if it crossed a line, I would fight back.” – When you read something like this in the morning news, you feel happy and you want to read through. I am sure many of you have must have read about this 16-year old girl, but I would like to re-iterate her case once again for those who might have missed or might have over-looked.

This braveheart from Barasat, aptly used her karate kicks to fight back two drunkards, who tried to molest her. She did not only fight back, but made sure their next visit is to a hospital with broken limbs and injuries.

Well, a man’s pain might not be the right thing to rejoice, but I guess, the entire nation would be proud of this teenager for inflicting this on them.

They pushed her off her cycle, passed lewd comments, and when she protested, they tried to drag her away. All this happened in broad daylight, but no one dared to come forward. She was not their first victim. They belonged to a group of five local hooligans, who had been harassing women for a long time. The girl and her friends were also not spared.

But, now this was her turn to assault and teach them a lesson for life. She did it, irrespective of whether on-lookers helped or not. She was determined to do so, anyway.

She turned back… and “I punched one of them in the temple and the other in the face. The first one staggered back, shocked. The other one fell down, groaning and holding his face in his hands. I could see blood dripping through his fingers. The first one tried to punch me. I blocked it and threw a front kick. He collapsed in a heap. The other one again came at me, and I hit him with a barrage of punches to his face and temples. Both of them were writhing on the ground,” she told TOI. (Source: Karate girl kicks her way out of the molesters’ clutches).

I wanted to keep her words exact, because when you hear something like this from a common man on how to overcome the difficulties and fight back, it gives you an added zeal. You too are motivated and find the strength to fight back, in need.

The one thing that surprised me in the article is the fact that it mentioned, ‘Passersby stood stunned. Still no one came forward to help’.

When will people learn to fight? When will they learn to help someone who fights?

Why would the onlookers not help when they were so many and they were just two people?

Why can’t gather the courage, while a 16-year old could?

I guess, they are waiting for something to happen to them. But, wait, it already happened. This gang had been repeat offenders and doing this thing for a long time. It mentioned that the girl had already complained about them to the local authorities, but they were too scared to take any action.

Why did it take so long to file a complaint? What are the people scared of? Are they protected by someone?

Anyways, there are too many questions to ask, but I guess many questions got answered too.

Women in this country need to come out of their protective shells and fight back. They are no less and they need to know that. They can protect themselves and they should know that.

A good news, a good example, a good lesson for everybody, at least for the people in Barasat. A praiseworthy act and a determined woman who know the rules of survival.

Quoting her once again, “When I started learning karate, my parents did not support me. Now I am sure I will never stop practicing martial arts.”

Way to go girl, you inspire many!
