A Kid Was Raped, A Man Was Stripped & The Delhi Eve Teasing Case: Different Yet Similar

A Kid Was Raped, A Man Was Stripped & The Delhi Eve Teasing Case: Different Yet Similar

August 25, 2015 by

The city of Bangalore has claimed yet another innocent victim in terms of child rape and paedophilia. Though, it is not uncommon news now-a-days, but it is shocking to see the decreasing age of the victims, who fall prey to these conscienceless perverts.

This time, it is a two and a half year old child, who was lured with chocolates and raped for three days, by somehow whom she never knew. She was sent home with an ayah from the day care center, where she went (as the teacher did not come) and the ayah, instead of dropping her home, left her half way and told her to go the rest on her own. The accused, a married, unemployed man with two minor kids, saw the child and lured her for three days into his house and the horror was unleashed. This incident happened on August 18, but was reported today only. The accused has been arrested, but…

You might have a hundred questions in mind like how can the day-care authorities leave the child like this? How can they send a child back if the teacher did not come? Why were the parents not informed before sending the child home? And many more, and every time, they go unanswered. Because, it is not just the system that is at fault, it is the perception, judgments, assumptions and mentality of people, that makes a situation worse.

The day-care authority might have felt why to keep the child waiting, if the teacher was not there. Someone did a job of sending the ayah along, and the ayah judged the situation in her own way and left the child. Day-care authorities might have thought, they will inform the parents, but forgot or what can possibly happen as the child’s house might be just few blocks away.

Just yesterday, we saw Jasleen Kaur flooding her case through social media and which probably, led to the arrest of the accused. Her strong stand in the News Hour also justified her case and many congratulated her for her daring act. The person was identified and arrested, but…

A few minutes later, I saw a social media post, which mentioned that she might have cooked it up and the incident was not of that extreme magnitude.

In a contrasting case, 28-year old guy was stripped and thrashed by a mob for travelling with a woman from a different community. This is a case of moral policing, which had started against Valentine’s Day, women visiting pubs, dancing in the pub and others. I remember a case, where a woman was manhandled by activists for visiting a pub in an attire of her choice. Arrests have been made in both the cases, but….

I remember a case sometime back, when a girl framed three boys in an assault case in a bus falsely and it was never their fault. They were accused and beaten for no reason at all. The truth came out that the girl was at fault, but…

Every time a case of this sort emerges, there is a big human cry, protests, signing petitions, social media trials and lot more, but….but what is THE SOLUTION?

The 40-yr old man, who assaulted a 2.5-yr old girl, will still live on the face of this earth, probably till the girl is old enough to understand the concept of rape.

The prevent, who allegedly passed lewd comments on Jasleen will still be set free to pass comments on many more.

The moral activists, who are not more than some false opinionated people, will still have the audacity to attack a person for doing something he/she likes, but probably ‘THEY’ don’t like.

The girl, who falsely accused three youths and they were treated in such an inhuman way, is still out there and she might frame someone else tomorrow.

Nirbhaya never got to live an extra moment of her life, but her rapists were alive to face the fame…and probably only a little bit of shame.

The teacher, who sexually assaulted a 6-yr old, a few months back in a reputed school in Bangalore and many more, who keep doing these deeds, without a fear, still lives to unleash horror to many more victims.

Well, many of you will say, then what do you want to do? Should everyone be killed and sentenced to death?

Well, I don’t know. It’s so difficult to judge at times, who is the real culprit and who is the victim. Truth can be twisted, turned and fabricated like anything. And, in those cases, where everybody knows the truth, justice just drags on. And, in those, who some people, make you believe in a false truth, justice is served then and there. Media has a big role in making and breaking a case.

Yes, we cannot punish everybody by killing, but at least we can kill the virus (which destroys another person) by giving the right punishment, to whoever is the real culprit.

We stay in a society of contrasts and sometimes, we don’t know whom to trust. At least, I am unsure. ARE YOU?
